Application of fire-retardant paint PLAMCOR-2
Surface preparation before applying the composition
The composition is applied to the previously prepared surface. For this purpose, it is recommended to use VMP primers such as zinc-filled ZINEP, ZFES, ZINOTAN, with corrosion inhibitors and anticorrosive pigments, ISOLEP-primer and VINICOR-061 or other primers as specified by the fire-retardant composition manufacturer.
The prepared surface shall be free from metal corrosion, peeling and cracking. Fire-retardant composition is applied not earlier than 7 day after priming. The surface shall be prepared before applying the fire-proof composition by degreasing to the first degree according to GOST 9.402 or by removing moisture and dust.
Composition application preparation
The composition shall be mixed until homogeneous before application. May be diluted with solvent SOLV-UR, solvent, butyl acetate or xylenein the amount not more than 10% by weight.
Application of fire-retardant coating
PLAMCOR-2 should be applied at temperatures ranging from -5°C to +40°C and a relative humidity of no more than 80% by airless spraying, brush or spatula.
The prepared structure area is coated in 2-5 layers, depending on the required fire-proofing efficiency and the metal's thickness.
The thickness of one dry coating layer varies between 200–800 µm, depending on the application method.
The theoretical spreading rate from 400 to 800 µm one-layer of paint is from 600 to 1,200 g/m².
The material requires a minimum drying time of 24 hours at (20±2) °C prior to the application of other layers. Complete drying is achieved after at least 10 days. The time depends on the temperature, higher temperature, faster the drying.
If necessary, a finishing enamel can be used as a finishing layer. Application is performed in 1 or 2 layers to achieve a total thickness of 50 to 80 µm, after at least a 24-hour curing period of the fire-retardant composition.
PLAMCOR-2 is not water-resistant. Moisture exposure, including condensation, shall be eliminated during painting and operating.
