PLAMCOR®-602

Description

Heat insulation composition based on acryl and chlorinated resins, one-pack.

The coating is a syntactic foam.

Apply at the ambient temperature from minus 15 °С.

Recommended use

The coating is applied in the protection systems of steel structures against corrosion and fire as a component of combined structural fire protection with thin-layer fire-resistant intumescent coatings PLAMCOR-1 and PLAMCOR-2 or increasing the fire-resistance rating of steel structures.

The coating is designed for operation in atmospheric conditions macroclimatic regions with moderately cold and cold climates, types of atmosphere – I and II, placement categories – 3 and 4 according to GOST 15150 in combination with PLAMCOR-1 composition, placement categories 2, 3 and 4 with PLAMCOR-2. The selection of a system of combined structural fire protection depends on the operating conditions.

The surface should be primed first, recommended primers: ZINEP, ISOLEP-primer, ISOLEP-mastic, VINICOR-061, EVOPOL-12, GF-021 (GOST 25129) or other – in agreement with VMP.

Surface Preparation

The metal surface must be primed in advance.

The primer coating shall be pre-cleaned, degreased, free from dust and moisture; all damaged areas of the primer coating shall be repaired.

Application

Preparation of PLAMCOR-602 composition for application:

• mix until homogeneous using a mixer;

• if necessary, dilute with thinner to working viscosity immediately before application.

Conditions of composition application – at a temperature from -15 to plus 30 °С and relative humidity up to 80% (when painting at low temperatures, it is recommended to consult with the material manufacturer).

The composition should be applied by airless spraying or brush/spatula in several layers depending on the required thickness.

Coating service life

Service life of complex fire-resistant coating PLAMCOR-602 when operating in a cold and moderately cold climate according to GOST 15150:

• in combination with PLAMCOR-1 at least 18 years at operating in premises of placement category 4, at least 10 years in premises of placement category 3;

• in combination with PLAMCOR-2 at least 25 years at operating in premises of placement categories 3 and 4, at least 10 years in premises of placement category 2.

The coating retains its fireproofing effectiveness during the specified period given the absence of mechanical damage and constant moisture condensation. After the end of the specified period, the fire-resistant coating has to be replaced with the complete removal of the existing layer and its subsequent restoration.

Packaging and storage

PLAMCOR-602 composition is supplied in metal buckets with a volume of 20 l.

Storage conditions in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at ambient temperatures from minus 40 to plus 40 °C away from heat sources). During storage, the container must not be exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight.

The warranty storage period of the composition in a hermetically sealed manufacturer’s container is 24 months from the date of manufacture.

Precautions

When working with the composition, one shall observe the corresponding industrial standards and requirements and safety measures indicated on the container label.

It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (goggles, masks, respirators), avoid inhalation of thinners during evaporation and contact of the composition with skin, eye and respiratory ways mucous membrane; use the material indoors only with sufficient ventilation.

The composition is classified as flammable material.

The given information is of a general character, not site-specific and should be considered together with the application manual. Use of materials for other purposes or under the influence of other factors must be confirmed in writing by VMP. If it is absent, the manufacturer is not responsible for the incorrect use of the material and the buyer loses the right to raise claims and satisfy the demands related to the quality of the coating.
