PLAMCOR®-303

Description

Two-pack intumescent composition consisting of epoxy base and aliphatic polyamine hardener. It is characterized by a high content of non-volatile substances, allows obtaining a thick coating with high fire-protection properties.

The coating is weather-resistant; when used under the conditions of intensive UV radiation, it is recommended to overlap it with finishing enamel.

The application is possible at an ambient temperature of up to 5 °С.

Recommended use

Fire protection of metal structures exposed to the moderate, moderately cold and cold weather, all atmosphere types and location categories according to GOST 15150 including open-air industrial atmosphere.

It is used as top coat or undercoat in the integrated protective coating systems intended for protection of metal structures from corrosion and fire. It is applied onto the primer coatings ZINEP, ISOLEP-primer, ISOLEP-mastic, GF-021 or other primer coatings on the agreement with VMP.

It is recommended to use POLYTON-UR (UV), VINICOR-62 and ALISTERUS 3105 enamels as top coats, as well as polyurethane and vinyl epoxy or other top coats in coordination with VMP.

Surface Preparation

The primer coating shall be pre-cleaned, degreased, free from dust and moisture; all damaged areas of the primer coating shall be repaired.

Preparation of reinforced concrete structures

The surface of reinforced concrete structures must be evenly rough and free from protruding reinforcement, cracks, pits, shells, sags, chipped edges, oil stains, dirt and dust.

Application

Preparation for use:

• the composition base shall be mixed until homogeneous using a mixer;

• While stirring constantly, add hardener to the base (the ratio of base and hardener by mass is 9.3:1), after mixing the composition is ready for use.

Composition viability after mixing the base and hardener at a temperature of (20± 2) °C is 1.5 h.

• if necessary, dilute it to working viscosity with SOLV-UR solvent immediately before applying.

Conditions of composition application – temperature from -5 to +40 °С and relative humidity up to 80%.

Coating service life

PLAMCOR-303 as a part of complex coating with primer and top coat has a service life of at least
30 years when operating in an open environment of moderately cold and cold climates according
to GOST 15150.

The coating retains its fireproofing effectiveness during the specified period given the absence of mechanical damage and constant moisture condensation. After the end of the specified period, the fire-resistant coating has to be replaced with the complete removal of the existing layer and its subsequent restoration.

Storage and handling

PLAMCOR-303 composition is supplied as a complete set: base and hardener, packed in metal buckets.

Storage conditions in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at ambient temperatures from minus 40 to plus 40 °C away from heat sources). During storage, the container must not be exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight.

The warranty storage period of the base and hardener of the composition in a hermetically sealed manufacturer’s container is 24 months from the date of manufacture.

Precautions

When working with the composition, one shall observe the corresponding industrial standards and requirements and safety measures indicated on the container label.

It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (goggles, masks, respirators), avoid inhalation of thinners during evaporation and contact of the composition with skin, eye and respiratory ways mucous membrane; use the material indoors only with sufficient ventilation.

The composition is classified as flammable material.
