SKA Arena stadium was opened on December 9 in Saint Petersburg. It hosted the all-star hockey game of the Continental Hockey League 2023. The new site became the biggest hockey stadium in the world. SKA Arena Stadium, with a capacity of 21,500 spectators, has overtaken Centre Bell in Montreal, Canada, by several hundred.

The construction of the arena began in 2020 on the site of the demolished “Peterburgsky” sports and concert complex. The construction of the stadium with a total area of 189.5 thousand m2 cost 60 billion rubles. Coop Himmelblau Bureau (Austria) took the famous Vladimir Tatlin's tower project as a basis for the architectural image of SKA Arena. The stadium is distinguished by numerous “floating” structures giving it a unique futuristic look. Steel structures of the facade weigh over 9,000 tons, the roof structure - over 5,000 tons.

Painting materials from VMP Research and Production Holding were chosen to protect the steel structures. Steel structures are protected from corrosion with these coating systems: ISOLEP-primer + POLYTON-UR +  POLITON-UR (UV) and ZINOTAN + POLYTON-UR + POLYTON-UR (UV). Superstructures and load-bearing structures are effectively and reliably protected from fire with weather-resistant epoxy compound PLAMCOR-3. In total, more than 140 tons of VMP materials were used on the construction project.

Anticorrosive and fire-proof coatings were applied to the structures of SKA Arena by VMP Engineering experts, service company of VMP Holding.
