Steel structures of the new Water Sports Palace in Yekaterinburg are protected with VMP materials

On April 13, the Water Sports Palace was officially opened in Yekaterinburg. The total area of the four-story building is more than 61,000 square meters. It has three professional and one children's pools, dry rooms for preparatory practice, special rooms for judges, competition organizers, and coaches, and a conference room. The stands hold almost 5,3000 spectators.
According to the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, this is the largest water sports palace in Russia. The palace is designed to host training sessions and sports competitions at the Russian and international levels. 28 contractors were involved in the construction, which took as little as two years, from March 2021 till March 2023.
VMP Production and Research Holding provided the protection of the building's steel structures from corrosion and fire. More than 750 tons of VMP products were used for the construction of the building. Anticorrosive and fire-proof coatings were applied to the structures by experts of the VMP Engineering service company.
Corrosion protection was ensured with the coating system comprising ISOLEP-primer epoxy primer and POLYTON-UR (UV) finish enamel (RAL 9003) resistant to UV radiation.
Fire protection of steel structures is ensured with PLAMCOR series of materials.
